For the last 10 years, Angelle has been at the forefront of advocating for change in one of the most challenging environments. Louisiana has the 2nd-highest rate of gun deaths and the 2nd-highest rate of gun injuries in the U.S. Living in New Orleans, Angelle has had a front row seat to the devastating effects of gun violence on NOLA communities, where a staggering quarter of all gun homicide deaths in the state take place.
But despite state lawmaker inaction to pass common-sense gun safety laws, Angelle has remained unwavering in her advocacy, proving a powerful voice for the gun safety movement and inspiring countless other volunteers in her state. Today, alongside fellow @momdemandaction volunteers, Angelle continues to push the state forward through her excellent leadership and relentless commitment to end gun violence in Louisiana.
“I look forward to a near-future Louisiana where communities have greater autonomy over the safety measures they can take for their families,” Angelle has said.
