Juliette Binoche Instagram – In 85, it was my first time going up the stairs to present a film in Cannes Festival. I was born there as an actress. I’m honored to be part of the jury as the president, I can’t wait to discover who, as members, we will be 🙂
Seeing us, as a human race, going through the latest terrible massacres -and others are still happening- observing the growing of selfishness expressed in so many ways in politics -in our actions and lack of actions-, our slow motion towards the urgency of changing our mindset towards ecology, make me even more aware of how responsible we have to be as artists. Choosing the films we want to make is absolutely crucial, cinema travels, in our hearts, minds and lives. We need films that can inspire our lives, our way of seeing, loving, hoping, believing.
Cannes Festival has shown its influence over the art of cinema but also the art of seeing the world. Let’s hope that the future films will nourish our need of truth. JB
