Nastia Liukin Instagram – No single moment—on top of the world or face flat in front of 20,000 people–defines us as individuals. That is, unless you let it.
A medal, a salary, a title, a relationship — once achieved or “checked off” often leave us feeling one of two ways: what’s next or, frankly, empty.
So where does true fulfillment lie?
Because along the way we will all have highs (like winning an Olympic gold medal) and lows (like falling face first at the Olympic Trials in front of 20,000 people and millions watching around the world). But more often than not, it’s the moments that come AFTER those moments, the moments that come after the win or the fall, that truly define us — truly fulfill us. It’s how you uplift others with the success you’ve achieved; it’s the decision to put one foot in front of the other and finish what you’ve started. Those are the moments that contribute to our character more than anything else.
And if you’re lucky enough to figure that out, well, then you’re already halfway there.
