Philippa Northeast Instagram – In one week, The Newsreader Season 3 airs on @abciview. The love and respect I have for this show, these characters and especially, these creators is indescribable. Having the opportunity to audition for and then join The Newsreader in Season 2 (after having been a major fan of Season 1) has been the greatest, most surreal, privilege of my acting career. Honestly, I struggle to even comprehend what a dream this 80’s drama has been to me. The care, determination, wisdom and joy that goes into making it is a profound thing to witness and to be apart of – I am grateful for this experience, every single day. Kay Walters, you complex, beautiful woman, I have loved playing you and getting to know you more deeply this season. I have also adored playing daughter to the phenomenal @life.with.gene. This cast and crew is incomparable. Anna Torv & Sam Reid, you have led a beast of a show and I relish any opportunity to be apart of something your immense talents have touched. Most of all, thank you to @emmafreemanmakesfilms @mrmichaellucas @joannamwerner @earledresner for trusting me, guiding me, framing me, for being the best kind of humans, the cleverest of creatives and for absolutely changing my life – I believe you’ve made the greatest television Australia has ever offered the world.
