RJ Malishka Instagram – As the Mahakumbh nears its end and we move towards Mahashivaratri a glimpse into a very rare sighting, the Aghori Pooja at one end of the Kinnar Akhada.
This night really was Adbhut, Witnessing a Pooja not easily accessible. I was told by my friend by this time, @shri_mahant_rishikesh , many unbelievable-sounding details like the legend ki ‘Ek Khopadi mein 3 aatmaayein basti hain’
or the fact that Swami Manikanandji ‘smashaan Pooja’ aur ‘Shav Sadhna’ dono karte hain. Their practices to attain Moksh or be one with Shiv are definitely not for the faint-hearted ! Yes it involves the eating of the flesh of the corpses on burning pyres.This will require a whole new understanding and it is fascinating and beyond our imagination. But to get to watch this was one heck of an experience. Thankful.
