Pujari, the dominant male from Khitauli, crossed the road & I thought that was all in store for us! While other vehicles trailed the tiger into the bushes, @sachin_rai_photography ‘s quick thinking led @saleem_bandhavgarh to position our gypsy at a nearby water hole, anticipating Pujari’s next move, which secured us the perfect and only vantage point. And within minutes, Pujari emerged, strolling into the frame and quenching his thirst with a 15-20 minutes long, satisfying drink. My first-ever eye-level sighting of a tiger drinking water!
But all through this, what struck me the most was Sachin’s kindness – he generously offered to click photos for tourists from other gypsies, who didn’t have an angle, ensuring everyone around got a moment on their camera, without taking any for himself! Such selfless acts, especially during a tiger sighting, are truly rare and inspiring! 🙏🙌
