It was the first city that would test my Duolingo Spanish skills and let’s just say I failed to converse but was able to comprehend basic words. Suffice to say, it was easier to tell people yo hablo ingles.
We celebrated mini-6 month anniversary here in this city reflecting on our marriage while celebrating another’s. This stop was undoubtedly one of the most difficult one with various challenges along the way. We had stayed in 4 hotels in the 4 nights we were here. But it’s in these moments we learnt to focus on solutions and making the best out of every situation, for that I’m so grateful for hubby not catastrophise-ing every bump in the road. We visited Eva Peron’s tombstone in the rain and he finally got his steak at a parilla restaurant where the waiter showed how tender the meat was by cutting it with a spoon. We finished the last night with a tango show before heading off for an early flight to Peru.
Buenos Aires is such a beautiful city but I would recommend to bring local currency before you come because taking out cash was a real nightmare.
