Galerie ISA presents the third solo exhibition in India by acclaimed artists Idris Khan and Annie Morris. This new body of work explores colour, repetition, and mark-making, while embracing fresh ideas and materiality.
Idris Khan’s works layer musical notations with expressive brushstrokes and rich hues, creating textured surfaces that blur sound and sight. His technique of layering and erasing evokes memory, time, and perception. Using glass adds depth, allowing light and shadow to reveal hidden details.
Annie Morris’ vibrant ‘Stacks’—sculptural formations built from pigmented plaster—symbolize resilience and joy. Her embroidered tapestries and ‘Petals’ series reflect themes of endurance and renewal, enriched by bold colours like Cadmium Red and Turquoise.
While distinct in practice, Khan and Morris share a common thread—transforming personal and collective narratives into powerful visual expressions that invite reflection and introspection .
