A few months ago, I stumbled upon this photo while flipping through old family albums. Five-year-old me, standing excitedly next to my siblings—captured by my parents—right beside none other than Captain America. This was during a trip made possible by Give Kids The World, an incredible organization that grants critically ill children and their families week-long wish vacations, completely free of charge. Little did she know… Enjoy the film & here’s to full circles. 🥂❤️

“Marvel has always been this big deal. It’s a dream, but I never thought about that because, What are the odds?” @shirahaas tells us. The Israeli actress became an overnight sensation thanks to her role as Esther Shapiro in the miniseries Unorthodox on Netflix in 2020. A Primetime Emmy nomination later, and Haas is now headed for the #Marvel universe in Captain America: Brave New World. “I think I’m part of a pretty badass club in terms of characters and also actresses,” she says of joining an elite group of female MCU characters as Ruth Bat-Seraph. We talk about what went into preparing for the role of a lifetime and what the future holds for Haas at the link in our bio. photographer: @shanemccauley stylist: @sweetbabyjamie hair: @jennychohair makeup: @karayoshimotobua

For actress Shira Haas @shirahaas , curiosity is a flame that lights each of her roles with fervent passion and vigour. “It’s important to participate in life,” she says in our next SS25 MORE THAN THIS issue cover story. Participation requires an equal openness to success and failure – an ability to “let go and trust the journey,” as her agent wrote on paper a decade ago. Her acting has now spread across the globe, especially as she’s entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her latest role in Captain America: Brave New World. As her insatiable sense of wonder opens door after door, we can’t wait to see what she’ll find behind the next one. _ Pre-order the issue now to discover the full story.
