These past days have been.. just.. horrifying.
I’ve been so consumed and sick in my heart looking at the images of the Los Angeles fires – feeling so powerless and heartbroken here in France. I cannot believe it.
I moved to LA in 2008 and lived there 15 years. The best 15 years of my life… My child was born there, my real home is there, my friends that are like family, and my community….I miss you so and am holding you all in my heart.
I keep replaying memories of hikes in Altadena, Pasadena, Malibu, and driving down the PCH to the beach. All those places —all gone, just ashes !? It is so hard to fathom. Just days before the fires, I was looking at flights to go with Indigo because we miss it so much, every single day. Not a day goes by without my heart swelling up because i miss LA and my life there.
I’m so grateful for the outpouring of love and the relentless, collective efforts to support those affected. I’ve shared links in my stories for anyone who can help. 💔
Today, as i can’t take my eyes away from the news and praying for rain and no wind, I’m still trying to use this anger and WTF energy at the studio to turn it into something more positive. I wrote this song called 🐉 SLAY THE DRAGON 🐉 a little while ago and finally recording this today with @pierre.inuit 🙏
Music is medicine for me so here is a small offering in a sea of sorrow 💊
Maybe one day I’ll put it out, but for now it exists here !
