Sophie Morgan Instagram – Is there a word for when you know you are living through a moment so special you will remember forever and it means so much it sort of aches somewhere in your gut? Pre-nostalgia!?
Whatever it is, I felt it a LOT this weekend.
Turning 40 with my parents and so many of my magical new friends (who I’ve only just had the joy of finding since I moved my whole life to America) hit hard, in all the right ways.
So many of us don’t get to do so – friends lost too soon were in my mind this weekend – and even some of us who are alive don’t know how precious this shit is.
My injury, years of bed rest, a near-death experience, and various moments of doubt about my ability to cope with this life have left me deeply aware, so very awake to the fragility of it all.
Life is a gift, and we only get one, I know it all feels so dark rn but there is always light somewhere…a wee reminder to tell the people you love that you LOVE them, to dance, and laugh, and play excellent music, and find some sunshine (I hear spring is on its way in the UK 🌼🤞🏻?) and drink some wine! It’s the weekend after all.
Family Mog, friends here and in the UK – I love you so much – adventure plans are afoot, tattoos are being booked…the naughty forties have begun and it’s all “downhill from here” apparently, which is great news as I like downhills best. They’re faster.
