When I was a little girl my Mama asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said “I want people to throw roses at my feet”.she was confused, but we eventually realized I saw someone on tv performing; receiving a round of applause as people threw roses on stage. Basically, I was saying I wanted to perform. I wanted to entertain. I wanted to pour so much of myself into something that it would make people feel so much and have them jumping to their feet! When you work hard and succeed (success is your own definition) you will get your flowers!
I’ve poured so much of myself into what I do. I love what I do. I’m GREAT at what I do, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get tired, frustrated, overwhelmed, burnt out… I work my ASS off INSIDE AND OUTSIDE the ring because I want to be remembered as someone who earned and deserved EVERYTHING they have gotten, I want to be remembered as someone who entertained you and made you feel something, I want to be remembered as an innovator never duplicator, a trendsetter, and history maker, a one of a kind generational talent that makes a difference in an impactful way and changed the game.
Win or lose I love what I do. Win or lose I’m always proud of the body of work WE do. And win or lose I’ll never let up.
My family has always been my biggest supporters and they have always been with me every step of the way. this #wrESTleMania was special because they were even out there with me. My step daughter was in my entrance jump roping with her braid. I almost broke hugging her and my parents and husband were with me in my entrance. I was so overwhelmed with time and making my gear. My parents flew down on my bday and we all collectively made this entrance piece. It was a full circle moment of telling my Mama I want people to throw roses at my feet as a kid to now being in WWE and having my mama & daddy toss roses to me & @montezfordwwe as we tag teamed to make this piece.
I’m walking in my purpose and damn it win or lose cheers or boos “it is what it is”. WE did that yesterday and I’ll be damned if I didn’t get my flowers!
