This episode had me thinking about perspective—I couldn’t shake how sad I was for Ellie but what I would have done if I was in Abby’s shoes…
I think It’s easy to hate Abby. We’ve been locked in with Joel and Ellie from the start, so, of course, she feels like the enemy. But Joel unalived her father. She didn’t just wake up evil—she was/is grieving.
And it got me thinking a lot about other “villains” who in my opinion weren’t really villains
Killmonger wasn’t wrong—he just had a by-any-means approach.
The Joker was a reflection of how broken the world already was.
Thanos was wild… but he thought he was saving us.
Maybe sometimes the “bad guy” is just someone whose pain isn’t traditionally understood by society.
The truth is, the villain typically depends on who’s telling the story.
Pain makes us pick sides.
And our perspectives are just the view from where we’re standing.
It doesn’t always make it the truth—just our truth.
We’re all villains in someone else’s story, and we’re the hero in another 🤷🏽♀️
