Chase Sui Wonders Instagram – “Each project I do feels like its own unique arrival,” @chasesuiwonders tells us. “I’m grateful that it hasn’t felt like all of a sudden you’re a celebrity.” The 28-year-old star burst onto the scene in the 2021 HBO Max teen drama Genera ion, and since then, it’s been a steady ascent up the Hollywood ladder with roles including A24’s slasher flick Bodies Bodies Bodies and Pete Davidson’s brainchild Bupkis. In her latest project, the acclaimed Apple TV series The Studio, she plays Quinn, a young, hyperambitious assistant turned executive who spares nothing to claw her way up the corporate ladder. “There will be many people in the industry who will feel both exposed and seen at the same time,” she tells us of the series led by Seth Rogen, which could be described as a meta commentary on the film business, obliterating the lines between fantasy and reality. To top off a meteoric year for Sui Wonders, we’ll see her in Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex alongside Olivia Wilde and Charli XCX, and leading the sequel to the 1997 cult horror I Know What You Did Last Summer. “It’s very daunting,” she admits of her first leading role in a major studio movie. “I have to fill the big shoes of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze.” There’s no doubt in our minds that she’s up to the task.
