Dina Deleasa Instagram – Friends, it is one month until this book hits shelves. I know most authors post their tearful triumph as they view their book for the first time. I did have that moment but posting that just didn’t sit right with me. Because this book was never really about just me.
Because I was more excited to put this in the hands of those I love. And say look at what you helped me do, thank you. Because the love they poured into me all these years comes out on the pages. My parents who gave it everything they had to create the family we are today. The family that I desperately want to maintain and build for Siena, in good times and bad. For the ones who came alongside me and encouraged me. Cheering me on during a career high. Or just asking me not to give up during a low moment. It’s about the team God put alongside me to help bring this book to life. It’s about the person who catches a verse on the pages in between and decides to not give up hope when it gets dark.
Sure, I hope you find new recipes you love. That gets your family and friends around the table. Or even sitting on the couch with a great dip recipe, watching a movie. Or that you take the time to feed yourself in between naptime and laundry. I hope you feel empowered to drop off some baked penne vodka to a neighbor you know could use a friend.
This book isn’t about me. It is about how God used someone unlikely and unqualified to do something extraordinary. It is about how no illness or no one thing can thwart God’s plan.
