When I started, I asked Bruno Heller, the creator, why such a smart woman would keep doubting a proven success story like Patrick. He said the show was structured a bit like a vaudeville act, with all of us playing the straight man to @snappytoes’ Buster Keaton. And yes, that meant we’d have the same skepticism again and again. The vaudeville analogy really helped, and Simon was indeed the most charming and silly Buster Keaton of investigators.
I’m so grateful to everyone on that show who helped me find my footing- since I joined 5 seasons in and it was wildly successful, I felt a little bit like I was jumping onto a runaway train. But what an adventure it was!
