Felicity Palmateer Instagram – 2 years on. It’s time to close a chapter.
In this week’s @indeep.podcast episode, I open up about my separation – what led to the decision, how I’ve been navigating it, and what moving forward looks like for me.
This isn’t about sympathy. It’s about sharing something real – especially since I’ve been asked (a lot), online and even by strangers on the street.
There was so much pressure to stay – because of my age, the length of the relationship, the ticking biological clock, there’s also constant societal pressure to “stick it out” no matter what, as if leaving something that’s misaligned is a failure instead of a courageous act. With so many friends around me getting married and having babies, it felt even harder to walk away. But I wasn’t happy, and I wasn’t being true to myself.
There’s no bad blood, just acknowledgment that we’d grown in different directions – and I needed to choose myself.
I hope by sharing this, it helps others going through something similar feel a little less alone. Strength isn’t staying stuck – it’s knowing when to walk away.
