I’m thrilled to announce that I had a pleasure to score the magnificent new film ‘Sentimental Value’ by one of my favorite directors Joachim Trier and that it will be premiered at Cannes Festival at the main competition. There will be probably more time to share insights of working with Joachim and how incredibly inspiring his filmmaking is but I felt just truly special to work on the body of work that I genuinely admired, appreciated and ‘felt’ which is a fairly rare moment. Congratulations to the whole team! Well done!

I’m delighted to announce that I’m taking over the show ‘Ultimate Calm’ on BBC Radio 3 after my wonderful friend Olafur Arnalds. I was really excited to get this opportunity as I am listening to the radio on a daily basis and most of the time it’s actually BBC 3. I wondered for a while how to approach – while staying within the show’s framework yet proposing something new and personal. I decided to invite to the show artists who I genuinely admire and who commune with music on a slightly different level – as filmmakers, activists, visual artists or other creatives. We will approach the silence and calmness as a space for exploration rather than passive rest revealing to your ears a bit more experimental flavours and other shades or ‘nothingness’. Huge thanks to wonderful producers Kit and Silas who helped me tame my scattered thoughts into a solid entity. You can listen to my new series on @bbcradio3 starting today at 10 pm and from Monday 21 April on BBC Sounds. Search ‘Ultimate Calm’ on BBC Sounds to subscribe and listen. I’m thrilled to have @shabakahutchings as my first guest at the show dedicated to the ‘Moon’. Thanks also to all the other wonderful guests who will join me on next episodes: Portico Quartet, Alvaro Barrington, Agnes Obel, Joachim Trier, Ben Rivers, Patrick Watson, Hideo Kojima, Cate Le Bon, Actress, Hinoko Omori and Julia Holter. I love and admire you all!

I’m delighted to announce the performance of my first symphonic piece ‚Non Fiction – A Piano Concerto in Four Movements’ which will be premiered in Barbican Center in London on 25 and 26th of November 2025. I will be joined by the Manchester Collective assembled as a 45-piece orchestra, led by violinist Rakhi Singh, conducted by Hugh Brunt (London Contemporary Orchestra) and with guest performances of saxophonist Jack Wyllie (Portico Quartet) and drummer Valentina Magaletti. Non Fiction is a piece for piano(s) and symphonic orchestra composed partially in response to the discovery in 2020 of the compositions of a young music prodigy, Josima Feldschuh, written during the horrors of World War II in the Warsaw Ghetto. The first sketch of the composition was performed already in 2023, at the Museum of Polish Jews in Warsaw, but it took two more years to reach its final shape – both musically and conceptually. Recognizing in the girl’s story parallels to the current political situation I decided to to examine it through the lens of modern horrors: the invasion of Ukraine and genocide in Gaza, and how closely we can ‚observe’ and ‚hear’ them through modern media. In doing this I try to investigate the constant coexistence of harmony and disorder creating a sonic metaphor for the survival of the human spirit when faced by the violence and using the emotional value of sound to make these somehow distant conflicts more relatable to us on a human level. Drawing on my classical music background I decided to combine it with my admiration for experimental and improvised music, symbolically juxtaposing precisely scored music with the beauty of ‚momentum’. For the opening set I will present a selection of my contemporary instrumental music for film and theatre alongside new music arranged for a small ensemble. General tickets will go on sale on April 16th; check Barbican website for members sale. Poster by Veil Projects Photography by @olivia.wunsche

I am absolutely delighted to announce a very special guest from Montreal – the incredible Patrick Watson who will join me during the concert in Warsaw which is also the opening show of the Ensemble Tour. It was a true bliss to work on my album Ghosts with Patrick so I’m really excited that we can finally commune together with sounds on stage, during the live performance. See you on the 23rd of March in Warsaw!
