Before I met this amazing human… I thought that boxing was barbaric… people in a ring… hurting each other. I didn’t understand THE SPORT. My ignorance.
I trained and trained and trained!!!
And what I learned is… Boxing, is physical… but not just that. It’s also mental. Cerebral. And, I truly believe it’s been helpful in how I see… and navigate life. Didn’t know that my hour private boxing sessions would also be my therapy. 🤷🏾♀️😂
ps. FUN STORY & TRUE FACT… Denzel and Terry have been great friends for many, many years. He also trained with him. I would train at 7am or 8 (three to four days a week) and so would Denzel. So, depending if I was at 7 or 8… or he was at 7 or 8… I was saying hello or goodbye to an ICON!!!!
How Cool Is That?!?!!!!!!
He probably had never seen Girlfriends and probably didn’t know my name… but was always kind. He would throw out some gems and I would pick’em right on up! LOL!!! As a young actor, serious about art, it was everything!
Boxing changed a lot in my world…
in many ways. ✨✨✨
