Kanupriya Gupta Instagram – Today I found my self zoning out in the gym..
As we are nearing my mother’s 3rd death anniversary, everything that happened 3 years ago is playing in flashback.
From getting her admitted, her last meal, her last smile… and before we knew it she was put on a ventilator and because of the tubes in her mouth… we didn’t get to hear her last words… her last piece of advice, or anything she would want to say… it felt like the cord was just snapped…..luckily the hospital staff knew us and were very kind to let our family stand by her, chant prayers, tell her how much we loved her, and that she can peacefully transcend.. even though we were breaking into a million pieces with every last breath of hers, we made sure we told her we would be fine without her and she shouldn’t worry… a lie that was needed to be said ….
The body doesn’t forget, everyone in my family is experiencing their own version of grief…and it’s such a powerful human experience and as much as we absolutely hate it…. The pain demands to be felt…. I guess this is what it means to be human….
For all those grieving my love, my heart is with you … know you are not alone…ask for help if you must..speak about your loved one as much as you want…you are allowed to cry, to break, to get mad, to be confused….its all a part of LIFE ❤️🩹
