Jeri Taylor was responsible, in large part, for changing my life. She was elegant, erudite, and fiercely opinionated. She wanted Kathryn Janeway to be a significant part of her legacy and I think there is no doubt that in that endeavor she succeeded. I owe her a debt of gratitude. May she rest in peace.

Today is International Women’s Day. I want to urge everyone to celebrate and examine the impact that women have in society and our power to effect positive change. A shoutout from me to the great women fighting the good fight – Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum, US Senators Elissa Slotkin and Elizabeth Warren, Reps Jasmine Crockett and AOC, and the myriad of women in STEM and the arts who are honest and taking up space. 💪🏻💫🍀☕️
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. My son Alec and his family have lost their home. I know many in our Star Trek community have as well. The NYT did a piece on artists who have lost their work, and quoted Alec extensively. More soon, including resources for donation and aid. He was in the final days of completing works for his forthcoming solo show, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘢, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘺, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳, set to open at the end of January. All of the works were burned in the fire. A new exhibition will be rescheduled at a later date. We are so grateful Alec and his family are safe and mourn with all who are now facing tragic losses and uncertainty.
