At @nolabookfest : I had the pleasure of speaking with my friend @itsmetarajane about her brilliant memoir – Educated, which feels more pertinent than ever.. I highly recommend reading it. I also watched some very powerful talks on the state of US politics including Pulitzer Prize winning historian, Anne Applebaum, speaking with Editor of the Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg (at the centre of SignalGate). I expected all of that. I didn’t expect the speed of it… I think it’s important that Americans understand that what’s happening here is happening at a greater speed and with more extremism than it did for example in Hungary or than it did in Turkey or that it did in Venezuela… it turns out that when you do it really fast, that’s also very confusing…” Anne Applebaum
