Marla shared information about Florida’s Senate Bill 56 (SB 56), which seeks to ban weather modification activities, as she testified in support of the bill earlier that day.
During the interview, Marla Maples emphasized the importance of preserving Florida’s natural climate and expressed concerns over potential unintended consequences of weather modification.
The bill, introduced by Senator Ileana Garcia, aims to prohibit actions intended to alter the state’s weather or sunlight intensity through the dispersion of chemicals or other substances into the atmosphere by prohibiting and criminalizing that form of activity (including fines up to $100,000 per incident). SB56 passed out of the Environmental Committee and next will be heard by the Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Environment and General Government on Wednesday, March 5th.
