I had the great honor of being invited to present the Grand Prize to an incredible short film: The Miracle Girl, made by super talented, young Palestinian filmmakers from Gaza who share the incredible true story of Rama Aldremli.
I was so inspired and moved by this and all the shorts. The talent I witnessed and the love that these up and coming filmmakers are putting into the stories that they are choosing to tell in their shorts gives me so much hope for the future of our industry. ConnectHer is a festival that gives opportunities to young filmmakers ages 13-24 from all over the world, to tell important stories about issues that affect girls and women. They are helping to encourage and champion the young filmmakers, most of them female, of tomorrow. And it is a sight to behold. Change doesn’t happen overnight but @connecther is planting seeds and doing very important work. I encourage you to check them out.
