Missy Franklin Instagram – Sooo this was like in the top five moments of my life???
We got to actually get in the Trials competition pool as a family and to be able to share in this experience together means more to me than words can ever say.
It hasn’t always been easy staying so involved and close to a sport whose journey ended so far from what I had hoped for myself. It hasn’t always been easy watching from the sidelines. It hasn’t always been easy getting over the never achieved goals, never healed injuries, and having to let go of one thing to make room for something even greater than I could have ever imagined.
But I knew it would be worth it. I knew that feeling like I could still make an impact for this sport and the people in it would make it worth it. To come back to my first Trials not competing as a wife, a mother, a podcaster, a content creator, and an ambassador really showed me the work I’ve put in over the past six years since my retirement, and getting to share this very moment with my family. Well. It was everything.
Very hard to summarize these last nine days. I’m so tired. I’m so thankful. I’m so excited for the future. Much more to come. But for now, just thank you. For following along and for your support. And most importantly. Go Team USA.
