Msaki Instagram – Swahili Encounters was a standout performance of Sauti za Busara festival, and one whose ripples could be felt through the continent. It was the pleasure of Littlegig and The African Imaginary to sponsor this incredible hour of performance where, under the musical direction of @msaki, artists from Tanzania, South Africa, Sudan, and Uganda came together.
Bass guitarist Islam Elbeiti who said this during the final concert:
“On behalf of all of us, I would really, really like to thank our incredible artistic director Msaki. We can keep clapping until tomorrow and it is not enough. Truly, it is not enough. Just to say that she has been able to facilitate such an incredibly kind and peaceful space for us to express ourselves, to express our fears, to express our joy, to express our togetherness. I thank the spirits, our ancestors, for bringing us on the same path with this beautiful sister.”
