Oon Shu An Instagram – Hihihiiiii!! I got something(s) to share!! Crazy 🤡world. So was thinking about stuff. Esp with what’s been happening the past few days (and 18 months and 76 years 💔) For some people, maybe it’s proof that the human race is selfish, that we will always prioritize ourselves over others BY NATURE. IT’S ALL ABOUT WHAT WE WANT. The more I think about it, the more I feel it’s such an awful thing to be told of ourselves. Some people ARE selfish. And they are celebrated and get into very high positions of power. But maybe then we need to re-examine what and who we celebrate in our society if we want it the world to look different? But I reject that people are inherently selfish. People WANT to be there for each other, to care, and also, these current systems make it hard for us to be human, AND YET, look at how so many people try to do it anyway.
It’s ok to want things. I want to know happiness even as I rage and my heart breaks. I want new narratives that don’t normalise and defang oppression. I want enough joy and community to keep going. I want enough strength and creativity to find new pathways. I want the audacity. I want the unyielding belief that we are headed towards a better world. I want. I want I want I want. What do you want?
