Maybe what truly matters is that moment lying on a hospital bed, looking back at our lives.
Did I love enough?
Was I kind?
Did I live with meaning?
Did I bring a little light and warmth
to the people I love,
and to those who crossed my path,
even if only for a brief moment?
Every year on this day,
I am reminded how fragile life is.
When I look back, most of it has been pain.
The hard times stand out more than the good.
But that’s what makes the small moments matter even more.
That’s where the beauty lies.
