Sam Taylor-Johnson Instagram – Last week I co-hosted an evening at the House of Bandits @sarabandefoundation pop up space. It was an opportunity to exhibit and sell the works of the current creatives at Sarabande with all the proceeds benefiting the artists and the Foundation.
The Sarabande Foundation was established by Lee Alexander Mcqueen, and supports 280 artists and designers through scholarships, mentoring and a heavily subsidised studio space. To ensure that art is accessible to everyone. I felt it incredibly important to highlight the work that Sarabande does. Sarabande’s work highlights the much needed radical inclusivity that are the foundations of such a broad and inspiring industry.
In a time where the Arts are suffering and the value of creatives is increasingly diminished by governments and a failed education system, jobs are unstable and competitive rather than nurturing and supportive.
Togetherness has never been needed more. Which is why supporting the arts and the independent organisations like Sarabande holding them up, is so vital right now. 🤍
