Shaista Lodhi Instagram – The deeper we go into adulthood, the more we begin to echo those who raised us. I catch glimpses of my parents in the mirror sometimes with pride, other times with discomfort as I notice habits I once vowed to avoid.
Life has a quiet way of bringing us full circle. As children, we grow out of dependence. As we age, we grow back into it physically, emotionally, even linguistically. And beneath all that, our family stories, joys, and traumas continue to ripple through us.
As Thich Nhat Hanh said, “We are our ancestors, we are our children.” No matter how far we go, we carry pieces of each other always connected, always continuing.
