Fola Evans-Akingbola Instagram – “This isn’t just about hair.”
Fola Evans-Akingbola (@folaevansakingbola) is, perhaps, best known for her roles in the hit TV shows The Night Agent and Ten Percent. But the 30-year-old actor has something else on her mind — hair inequality in the entertainment industry. She’s spent hundreds of hours chatting on camera with fellow mixed-race and Black actors — as well as her anthropologist mother, Gillian Evans (@yogianthropologist) — to create a Bafta-nominated documentary, Untold Stories: Hair on Set (@haironsetdoc). Here, the actor and Evans go back to their roots to discuss hair equality.
