Idina Menzel Instagram – Visiting a Redwood in NYC?
October 2024 – A unique meeting took place 200’ aloft in an 800yr old redwood tree, Tony award winning @idinamenzel shared her story how the new Broadway musical, @redwoodmusical was nurtured into fruition by adopting TCPs philosophy that trees and forest are sanctuaries. Upon our ascent we talked, we laughed, we shared silence as our personal emotions absorbed the abundance of the experience, we continued to gently drifted upwards into the sacred space of the Redwood canopy. After reaching the trees summit, I broke open the ceremonial chocolate bar, as nothing taste sweeter after a vertical pilgrimage into one of the earths ‘pillars of time’. It was during this moment of reflection that I was all of sudden being serenaded by one of our most powerful voices on our earth. I had a front row seat, with the backdrop of an ancient forest and the stage was in her magnificent natural form (no need to cut down a tree to build a stage, lets perform the way the stage naturally grows). With a belly full of chocolate, views of grandeur and my ears being massaged by songs of light – I was enveloped in an arboreal bliss like no other.
Feb. ’25 – Idina and team invited us to her Redwood climb on NYC’s Broadway. A tribe of OG’s from the inspirational tree climbing world joined us on this journey. I believe Row K in the mezzanine section, that night, saw the performance from an advantage point not experienced by many. We were all in awe! The set, the story, the climbing, the emotions, the power! For a couple of hours that night, it felt like we stepped back a few thousand miles to California’s Redwood coast. What an experience to behold! After the show we got invited to go backstage and introduce Idina to the heart of my tree climbing tribe from around the country.
A few days later, I re-joined the cast and crew on their “climb in” – preshow warmups -and got the opportunity to meet Stella (the Redwood tree), I even got a quick treehug in and thanked her for the message she is sending out to the world – Trees Heal! | Posted on 01/Apr/2025 23:13:44
