Popping in to say—I know Instagram makes everything look glamorous, and yeah, parts of it are. But I wanted to come on here and be real. I’m three months into hardcore trauma work. It shatters you, then somehow puts you back together into something real. It’s messy, it’s ugly, it’s all the bullsh*t people say healing is. But also? There’s a light. And even when you can’t see it, it’s still there. Trauma makes you wear glasses that lie to you—about your worth, your safety, your future. And then one day, after doing the work, you take them off. You breathe for the first time. If you can afford it, I highly recommend diving in. Brainspotting, in particular, changed everything for me. My nervous system? Regulated. Old thought patterns? Mostly gone (not perfect, but who the f*ck is?). My body even changed because it’s no longer trying to protect me. I know this is a privilege. I know not everyone has access to this kind of healing. But if you’re in the thick of it, let this be a sign: You’re not alone. You’re a badass. And all those bad thoughts? They’re not real. Healing isn’t linear. Some days, it feels like nothing is changing. Other days, it hits you all at once, and you’re like, ‘oh, so we’re doing this today?? Cool, love that for me.’ But even in the mess, it’s moving. I know this sounds like a TED Talk, but I’m just a girl behind a screen who’s been through it. And I’m rooting for you. Hard. Because, fam—been there. So, to whoever is behind the screen, I’m giving you the biggest bear hug.
