Ankita Konwar Instagram – I hope one day, we will also get a designated cycling track in our city. And cyclists can step out without the constant fear of losing their lives on the road.
I recently travelled to Dubai to experience the 80km long cycle track in Al Qudra. Needless to say it was hot but at least the only elements I had endure were the sun and the wind.
No drunk drivers or potholes or horrible construction sites to test my will for survival.
Way too many incidents have been taking place across the country (at least Mumbai and Delhi) when it comes to cyclists and runners.
It’s high time the city planning includes safety and welfare for the public who choose to be active.
It will also encourage the society to pursue outdoor sports for health!
Come on India! Make it happen!
