Margot Bingham Instagram – So much of who I am was tied to my hair. My femininity, how boys viewed me, how I wanted to be viewed by society, how I even approached roles! My ancestors are tied to my hair. Fear, was tied to my hair. Needing to be desired, seen as sexy, seen as cool, dynamic-hey, when I finally put out that album that HITS will my hair be the “thing” that makes people remember me, not just my talent?!🙄
Well…I call bullshit. My hair doesn’t make me more of a woman. It doesn’t make me a better artist. It is not here for the male gaze. It will not be the reason that holds me back from the next incredible role that was always meant for only me. My hair, is not my defining feature. It’s a shade, an outfit, a season. I am soooo much more. The right man will not intimidated. The right role will come again. Now granted, I am extremely fortunate that I have a choice to play with my hair, knowing it will grow back when so many don’t have that option. I am just excited to discover all that has been hiding under those curls for way, too, long😘💫
