Meaghan Rath Instagram – On February 27th, the final episode of Children Ruin Everything will air, and our story comes to an end.
It’s hard to put into words what this show has meant to me. It has carried me through the pandemic, two pregnancies, and multiple union strikes. It has been my constant. I got to work with some of the most talented people Canada has to offer, and I can’t believe what we were able to make together. Our show has been Canada’s #1 comedy for the entirety of its 4 year run, and I could not be more proud.
The end is bittersweet- I feel lucky that @smeatonpotatoes got to write a proper ending for our family (we all die! Just kidding), but equally, I am overwhelmingly sad that I don’t get to be Astrid again.
I will never forget, standing my mark, moments before rolling on the final take of the last scene we would ever shoot, and being hit by the absolute heartbreak of knowing this was about to be the last time that I ever get to be HER.
I will forever be grateful to @newmetricmedia , Bell, and @ctv for this gift, but mostly to Kurt, who believed I could be her. Weird and resilient and nuanced. He understood me, wrote for my strengths, challenged me, let me be funny and huge and strong and vulnerable and pushed me to take chances. You made me feel free. I trust you. What more could I ever ask for?
