I became a citizen in Atlanta Georgia because I believe that it is not just my power it is also a privilege others before me didn’t have.
In this historical election I remember how America used to inspire hope around the world. It’s the whole reason I went there. Land of dreams. Land of possibility. A magical place where you could be anything you could imagine.
Now you can’t be a woman, you cant be black,
you can’t be gay, an immigrant or even Puerto Rican. The list goes on and on…
I continue to remain hopeful that good triumphs over evil because that’s what it really comes down to at this point.
This year I voted absentee because I’m thousands of miles away and god knows if my ballot will make it.
Either way I still believe in the power of the vote and the hope and the promise of America.
