The organization has been helping artisan women become entrepreneurs and business owners for nearly 20 years, focusing on the growth of community based, women-owned businesses, supporting the integrity of artisan made goods, providing education that catalyzes economic independence, and creating a cycle of success.
Since forming in 2007 to support 30 female genocide survivors in Rwanda form an artisan cooperative, Indego Africa has created long-term sustainable change for over 1,500 individuals in Rwanda, Ghana, and Refugee Camps.
Indego Africa’s Artisan Atelier uses local, natural materials to create exceptional pieces that blend heritage craftsmanship with modern design.
