Yesterday in Geneva, the second part of the fifth negotiation session of the Global Treaty to End Plastic Pollution opened. From the very first hours, tensions ran high: diplomatic gridlocks, heavy lobbying, and blatant attempts to erase core issues from the agenda. The session chair reaffirmed the ambition to reach an agreement. But this was immediately undermined by Saudi Arabia and Iran, who pushed to delete Article 6, the only article addressing production cuts. The strategy is clear. Petrochemical-producing nations are steering the conversation toward recycling, a false solution, instead of tackling the root of the crisis: the unchecked, toxic, and ever-growing production of plastic. This treaty must be bold, or it will be worthless. Yes, we need an agreement within ten days. But not just any agreement. A weak compromise will only mask failure. And the planet will continue to suffocate. So will we. Silence is no more an option. That’s why we are launching a global campaign: « UN-NORMALISE PLASTIC » with a first video titled « Un-normalise Ocean Plastic, » created by @therefreshmentclub Our goal: To build a global citizen movement strong enough to challenge the lobbies and demand real decisions, not greenwashed diplomacy. Imagine this: If every person made a small donation, we could become millions, united in: * Stopping false promises * Fighting the rise in cancer, infertility, and chronic illness * Building a healthy, just, and truly sustainable economy This isn’t charity. It’s power, funded by us all. Plastic should never have been the norm. Let’s un-normalise it. Now. Together. Join us: link in a bio #unnormaliseplastic #nomoreplastic
