diksha sharma Instagram – I stayed at Taj Wayanad Resort & Spa, Kerala recently and it’s honestly one of the most peaceful places I’ve been to in Kerala. It’s tucked away by the Banasura Sagar Dam and feels more like an island retreat than a typical resort.

The vibe is super earthy — villas made with bamboo and terracotta, everything open and airy, with views of either the lake or forest. I stayed in one of the lake-facing cottages and waking up to that still water every morning was unreal.

There’s a full wellness setup too — Ayurvedic spa treatments, a yoga deck facing the hills, and a beautiful infinity pool that catches the sunset perfectly.

Food-wise, they have a few restaurants:
* Shamiana for all-day dining (the breakfast spread was chef’s kiss)
* Southern Spice for South Indian specialties (highly recommend the Kerala Sadhya)
* Tropics if you want poolside drinks and grills
Also loved that the resort organises things like birdwatching walks, cycling by the lake, and even local cooking sessions if you’re up for it.
Room rates start around ₹25–30K per night (includes breakfast) and go up depending on season and if you’re booking a villa with a private pool.
Honestly, if you’re planning a slow holiday with equal parts nature and luxury, this one’s worth checking out. Let me know if you want details on rooms or food—I’ll share whatever helped me plan.
