There’s a moment in spinning that I just l liiiiive for – when the spin is going soooo fast and feels wild but your body finds the point of stillness amidst the chaos and you hold yourself there. If you move a muscle all the control is gone. You have to hold the tension between chaos & control. When I find that sweet spot between the energies – YES! HI! I’m alive!! 🤩
As for dizziness, like anything, the more you do it, the more your body adapts and accepts it. Funnily enough it’s only the moment you look up out at the room beyond the hoop and try to slow down and re-align yourself to the pace of the wider world again that the dizziness sets in. I’m in Australia at the moment for conventions living that suitcase life which is faaaabulous on one level, but I’m remembering how much I need dance & movement everyday for happiness. When I stop dancing my connection to my body weakens and it feels like a stranger again. I had a vivid dream in which I told my bf I’m moving out to live in a commune with all my hoop teachers lol.
