Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Mirabai Chanu returned to competition in style, winning gold in the 48kg category at the 2025 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.
Competing for the first time after missing the podium at Paris 2024, she lifted 84kg in Snatch and 109kg in Clean & Jerk, finishing with a total of 193kg to claim the top spot.
This victory adds another golden chapter to her career, where she already holds World Championship and Commonwealth Games titles in the same weight category. With this strong comeback, all eyes now turn to her preparations for the World Championships later this year.
