One of the craziest experiences of my life: standing outside at 2 AM and the sun is still shining like it’s early evening.
Welcome to Norway’s Midnight Sun — where daylight lasts for 24 hours straight.
This natural phenomenon happens in summer, especially in places above the Arctic Circle like Tromsø, Lofoten Islands, and Nordkapp. From late May to late July, the tilt of the Earth means the sun never dips below the horizon. It’s disorienting in the best way — your body wants to sleep but the sky says let’s go for a hike hehe! 😅
📅 The best time to witness this surreal experience is between June and mid-July.
But let’s be real — Norway is expensive.🤑 So to explore without breaking the bank, we decided to camp our way through the country. And guess what? Wild camping is legal and FREE here!! You can pitch your tent almost anywhere in nature, as long as you’re respectful of the environment and not too close to private homes.
Waking up to the view of fjords, forests, and mountains felt like a dream.
If Norway’s on your list, go in summer and don’t miss this daylight madness. It’s one of those things that no photo or video can ever fully capture.🙈
