America Ferrera Instagram – Jeanette Vizguerra has inspired me since I had the privilege of profiling her for TIME 100 in 2017. She is a mother who has always wanted what all mothers want: safety for her family, herself, and her Colorado community. Now, she has been detained by ICE without warning.
As I wrote in TIME, Jeanette came to this country to create a better life for her family. She shed blood, sweat, and tears to become a business owner, striving to give her children more opportunities than she has had. This is not a crime. This is the American dream.
Jeanette now faces deportation to Mexico and separation from her children. Join me in fighting to reunite Jeanette with her loved ones, and sign the petition at the link in my bio.
