Anna Friel Instagram – Eunice McMullen. Yesterday we said farewell to you. My dear dear Godmother. She was but 73 and fought a 3 year battle with cancer. She was the most elegant woman I knew. She taught me so very much. Lessons that will last a lifetime . She introduced me to the arts and craft movement – William Morris lighting!!! If it wasn’t for her. I wouldn’t have had somewhere to go when I left the North and moved South.
I wouldn’t have discovered New York with her I would’ve experienced it alone.
I wouldn’t have moved to Windsor.
And I wouldn’t have inherited her love of history, not as facts, but as feeling, as atmosphere.
My own home is adorned with the women Eunice loved , the glowing, defiant, mythic figures of Waterhouse and the Pre-Raphaelites. She was what you could call, a real life fairy godmother .
