Barbie Blank Instagram – Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful girl, Nala. A few weeks ago, she suffered a stroke, and though she fought so hard and gave us a glimmer of hope last week, her body just couldn’t keep going. She declined quickly over the weekend, and our hearts are shattered.
Nala wasn’t just a pet—she was a piece of our soul. She’s how I met my husband. We were both at the dog park I had Bambi and Joe had Nala and Brixie (who we lost a year ago) they ran straight to each other, and just like that, our lives changed forever. Those two introduced us, and from that moment on, they were there for everything. Our wedding. The birth of our babies. Every walk, every move, every milestone.
Nala was gentle, loyal, protective, and endlessly loving. She had this quiet strength and soft eyes that always seemed to understand exactly how we were feeling. Losing her feels like losing a piece of our history—a piece of ourselves.
We loved her with everything we had. And we always will.
Now she’s back with her sister, Brixie—two best friends reunited, running free.
Our home feels quieter. Our hearts feel heavier.
We are completely and utterly heartbroken.
There will never be another Nala.
