the summer gossip girl turned 18… This show was my college. It was my education, my social life, my hardwork, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher. New York City and Silvercup Studios (& sometimes Paris ✨) was my campus for SIX years. So many memories. What. A. Decade. 💖 What a University.
I’m an old school devotee to hot rollers and mousse like my mama. When we were developing all our products for 🤎@blakebrownbeauty it was critical to me that people could achieve professional level results & volume, THEMSELVES, at home, and in a way that was CLEAN, and smelled amazing, making you feel your very best in every way. And at a more accessible price point. In my experience, the cleaner products didn’t give the same mega watt impact of volume and glam. So we worked for 7 YEARS to come up with the best products possible that hit all these markers. We were able to crack every hair staple product except hairspray. We couldn’t find a solve that hit every single marker. So we didn’t launch with a hairspray. This is my first reel I’ve ever made. I had no idea you could add a caption. I’ve also been leaving my flashlight on my iPhone these days without realizing it. That’s how you know I’m vintage. 🤦♀️🤭 So here I am. A day late to add a caption… We spent over 7 years building @blakebrownbeauty It took that long because we were uncompromising with the quality, sustainability, cleanliness, performance, results, accessible price point and one other element that isn’t usually factored so heavily into haircare… fragrance. Having scents that elevated your everyday was a critical and distinct part of @blakebrownbeauty We wanted each person to feel unique, both soft and strong, warm and cool, glam and raw, bold and subtle, masculine and feminine and every note in between. We spent literally YEARS creating scents that could adapt to each person depending on your mood, age, gender, feelings, or the season. Scents you could layer to make your own. Or wear alone. Scents that made you happy in the shower. Or when you let your hair down after being up for a few hours. Or as a breeze passes through and you get a hit of what everyone else has been enjoying all day as you walk by. But we never planned to bottle just our fragrance. Not until you asked us to.
