Brytni Sarpy Instagram – I didn’t think I’d love Rome.
Big cities usually skew too chaotic for me…too crowded, too touristy. But Rome… she surprised me.
By day, she’s chic and historically dense—a walkable museum of humanity’s greatest hits. Everywhere you turn, there’s something to marvel at. The scale of it all is almost impossible to capture (especially with my fixed lens).
But Rome at night… is something else entirely.
I’m usually drawn to nature- coastlines, mountains, trees. But walking through Rome after dark stirred something different- an admiration for what we, as humans, have built. The Colosseum, fully lit and monumental, punctuates the city, god-like. Standing in front of it left me in awe of its ambition, endurance, and craftsmanship.
It felt safe to walk among the masses at 12am. Inviting even. The streets glowed under golden lamplights. The architecture, already stunning by day, becomes even more romantic at night.
