One of the most stunning little islands I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. But she makes you work for it. Those viral videos of people lugging their luggage uphill over cobblestone? That was us. Worth every step.
The water was intensely salty, vibrant in its deep blue, yet somehow crystal clear.
And the gelato? Best I had in all of Italy. Will go back JUST to have it again. The lemon pasta was my favorite meal and was everything you’d hope an Italian island would deliver: bright, fresh, and light.
Beyond the shopping, what I enjoyed most were meeting the people who worked the island. Many live elsewhere and arrive just for peak season, working long hours for four months straight, then returning home to rest or travel. I admire that rhythm.
