Debbie Matenopoulos Instagram – It is truly the end of an era! As today is the final day that E! News will exist. I spent so many formative years of my career there. So I’m taking a moment today to look back and reflect. There are so many more pictures and so many memories that it would take a lifetime to post them all here. We’ll save those for the book some day 😜From every awards show red carpet, to hosting Fashion Police, and The Daily 10, E! was a place that we all got be creative and have fun covering celebrity news. When I got there the tides had thankfully changed a bit. We weren’t snarky journalists. We were friends with the stars and that made them want to talk to us and have fun with us. They knew that we wouldn’t attack them. They felt safe being honest with us as we were more laid back and open to just about anything really. That was such a magical time. It was Hollywoods heyday and E! networks was the headquarters. It almost feels like it wasn’t real. The executives allowed us to be US. They put the power in our hands to really make the show we wanted to make. They allowed us to ask the questions and say what we wanted to as long as it wasn’t something that would get us sued. lol. 😂 That made for really good TV and even better LIVE TV. NO ONE knows how to do a live red carpet like E! did. We owned that carpet and every outlet knew it! They ALL envied us. I’m not bragging, I’m simply stating facts. You can ask around.
